The Lansing Ophthalmology Regional Eye Care Center chose Courtland Consulting to design and build a content management system (CMS) website to provide their customers with a secure login area for patients and doctors, E-Commerce module for purchasing contact lenses or pay their bill online, and an easy-to-use administrative interface to maintain form data information.

The LOEYE.com home page design contains quick links to all major sections of the site and provides a fresh and inviting layout which complements the health care provider’s current marketing material.

The CMS User Module was modified to add higher levels of security encryption (256-bit encryption) for the custom login modules for the patients and referring doctors to manage their own account information and securely transfer data to Lansing Ophthalmology and its various offices in compliance with HIPAA regulations. The patient login module includes access to updating their contact information, order contact lenses and view past orders, schedule an appointment, pay their bill, and add a dependent to their profile. The referring doctor login module includes a detailed form for external doctors to refer patients to Lansing Ophthalmology doctors and provide detailed patient information and upload scanned images or other relevant documentation as part of the referral. The site and office administrators can manage site content through the CMS backend. The website also provides custom administrative pages for the site administrator to access form data submitted and stored from the site, and perform various actions for processing requests, which includes but are not limited to:

• accepting, verifying, and processing contact orders
• processing appointment & referring doctor requests
• viewing user profiles and performing updates
• resetting and managing login accounts
• viewing and accepting payment transactions (the database does not store credit cards as part of PCI compliancy regulations)
• publishing and managing events & e-newsletter requests

Custom E-Commerce web pages were programmed to securely process online payments for patients to order contact lenses and pay their bills online. Both forms are integrated with a secure check out form and connected to the Authorize.net payment gateway.
